"I shut my eyes in order to see."
~ Paul Gauguin, 1848 - 1903
Artist, keeper of Little Ahab the Bird, child of Lou the Visionary, servant of Folktales, lover of Myth, parent of the "Carnegie Dinosaurs" and other curious Commercial Objects, blessed with many an odd Adventure, the best and dearest Friends and most delightful Visitors on the planet.
That makes me think of these two quotes--
"As the hand held before the eye conceals the greatest mountain, so the little earthly life hides from the glance the enormous lights and mysteries of which the world is full, and he who can draw it away from before his eyes, as one draws away a hand, beholds the great shining of the inner worlds."
-- Rabbi Nachmann of Bratzlav
"...I seem to have been only like a boy playing on the seashore, and diverting myself in now and then finding a smoother pebble or a prettier shell than ordinary, whilst the great ocean of truth lay all undiscovered before me."
-- Isaac Newton

Hello Forest so pleased I happened upon your world. The story of your parents touched me greatly and leaves me thinking how their short bitter sweet life is the sort that folktales have deep tap roots... and through you, their very own tale teller, their tale of love lives on.

Hello Forest I found your site some time ago and bookmarked it. I just wanted you know that when there seems to be no magic left in the world I come here to reaffirm the existence of magic and imagination.
Thank you for being here.
